Photography Alternative processses

Many people tend to think that photography is all about the camera and the photographic outcome. However, there are many different types of photography processes to create a photographic outcome such as:

  • Digital cameras(DSLR) the most popular and original process of creating a photographic outcome. Most digital cameras can use a USB cable also use an image sensor instead of process film.
  • Photogram Dark room process is a process where objects are exposed directly on photography paper.
  • Film cameras(SLR) the most original method of creating a photographic outcome and there are many different types of film cameras all create photographic outcomes differently.
  • Cyan type special paper exposing natural light produces a photographic outcome that is blue, creates negatives in photo shops and the paper can be bought pre-treated cyan type.
  • Pinhole camera not a well known photographic method but you are able to make your very own pinhole camera.
  • Liquid film Dark room
In the workshop I participated in I concentrated on one in particular photographic process called photocopying the process where a scanner scans either the image, writing or object you want copying as an image. Through the workshop I decided to concentrate on my on going project "Mother and Child"through the use of  selecting a variety of images relating to the theme and collage the photographs to create my own version of the process photocopying aswell as creating an outcome for my project "Mother and Child".
